Director of Nursing

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is seeking a full time Director of Nursing.  Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing (BSN) required.
  • Master’s Degree in nursing or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of three years management experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices and techniques associated with the scope and complexity of care required by patients served.
  • Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan who administers professional nursing services following guidelines established in the Nurse Practice Act under the provisions of Act No. 149 of the Public Acts of 1967, State of Michigan.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence in nursing practice.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and managerial competency. Evidence of this includes, but is not limited to, effective communication skills and abilities to deal well with people, ability to problem solve, confront/resolve issues, motivate others, ability to plan, and organize and direct the activities of others.
  • Knowledge of and experience with computer information systems and electronic medical record.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values of BCMH.

 

Infection Prevention Coordinator / Utilization Review Liaison

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is seeking a full time Infection Prevention Coordinator / Utilization Review Liaison.  Qualifications include:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse or Associates Degree in a Health Care Field preferred.
  • Must possess the following skills: Basic computer literacy, accurate typing, filing and retrieval, telephone etiquette, tact, organizational ability, numerical ability to compile and review data.
  • Must also have a wide range of problem solving abilities and techniques with the ability to determine pertinent data.
  • Must have exemplary oral and written communication skills and be able to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and the medical staff.  
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
  • Three to five (3-5) years clinical experience.  
  • Experience in Utilization Management and Infection Control preferred
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values of BCMH.

 

Home Care and Hospice Registered Nurse Case Manager

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is currently seeking a full time (5 days per week) Home Care/Hospice Registered Nurse Case Manager. Qualifications include:

  • Must have graduated from an approved school of professional nursing and must maintain current licensure for professional nursing practice in the State of Michigan.
  • Must be BLS/CPR certified every 2 years according to the Michigan Heart Association guidelines.
  • ACLS required if required to work in Cardiac Rehab.
  • Demonstrates stress management by remaining composed during stressful situations.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence in administration of quality nursing care to patients.
  • Demonstrates personal acceptance of responsibility and accountability for self and team members
  • Demonstrates use of rehabilitative-restorative nursing techniques appropriate to the need of the patient.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the Hospice philosophy and attends an informal training regarding the Hospice philosophy presented by the social worker or Home Services Administrator.
  • Promotes positive interpersonal relationships with staff members, administrators, physicians and the public.
  • Accepts assigned duties within his/her knowledge, experience and educational training.
  • Maintains confidentiality concerning the patient and family, staff members, administration and physician.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. 
  • Must have and maintain vehicle insurance.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values of BCMH.

Home Care and Hospice PRN CNA

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is currently seeking a PRN Home Care/Hospice CNA. Qualifications include:

  • Must be a high school or graduate or have a GED from an approved program.
  • Must be have successfully completed a formal nurse aide program and must maintain and have current certification.
  • Must successfully complete a state approved competency evaluation within four months of hire.
  • Must be able to express ideas logically.
  • Must be CPR certified every 2 years according to the Michigan Heart Association Guidelines.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the Hospice philosophy.
  • Demonstrates stress management, personal acceptance of responsibility and accountability, promotes positive interpersonal relationships and maintains confidentiality.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values of BCMH.

 

Operating Room Surgical Tech

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is seeking a 32 hour/week Operating Room Surgical Tech.  Qualifications include:

  • Must have graduated from an approved school of Surgical Technology and be/maintain current certification in the State of Michigan.
  • Handles stress and pressure while remaining self assured and composed.
  • Has desire to succeed and grow as evidenced by participation in in-service program, internally and externally.
  • Clinically competent to perform in this area.
  • Demonstrates a stable temperament, strong sense of responsibility and accountability for own actions.
  • Does promote good interpersonal relationships with staff, doctors, administration and the public.
  • Must be BLS/CPR certified every two years according to the American Heart Association guidelines.
  • Willingly accepts other duties within his/her knowledge and training.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values of BCMH.

 

Medical Laboratory Technician

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is seeking a 30 hour/week Medical Laboratory Technician.  Qualifications include:

  • Must have two years education in an approved institution, in the Medical Laboratory Technician program.
  • No experience other than internship program.
  • About three months on the job orientation to become familiar with hospital procedure is necessary.
  • Must understand the use and limitations of laboratory equipment and apparatus, and is familiar with standard laboratory methods and techniques for handling material for bacteriological examination.
  • Should have a basic knowledge of various fields of specialty laboratory work and be capable of collecting, processing, typing, storing and testing blood.
  • Should be able to work under a great deal of stress.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values of BCMH.

 

Radiographer / CT Technologist

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is seeking a 3 day/week Radiographer / CT Technologist.  Qualifications include:

  • Must be a high school graduate.  
  • Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school and able to meet the requirement for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART).
  • If not currently trained in CT will be required to be trained for this position.
  • On the job orientation is necessary to become familiar with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Verbal ability is necessary to read and understand medical and technical materials and instructions:  to communicate with medical, technical and clerical personnel as well as hospital administrators and patients.
  • Numerical ability is necessary to detect errors in written material and statistical data and when writing and proof reading records and reports.
  • Spatial perception is necessary to visualize relationships of internal organs in relation to radiographic tube and receptor in order to obtain radiographs of diagnostic value.
  • Form perception is necessary to perceive detail in Radiographic Images to determine acceptability of exposure.
  • Manual dexterity is necessary to adjust machine controls and arrange, attach and adjust supportive devices.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values of BCMH.

 

2 - BCMH Physician Office RN, LPN, CNA, or Medical Assistant

Baraga County Memorial Hospital Physician Group is seeking two RNs, LPNs, CNAs or Medical Assistants.  Qualifications include:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school for appropriate level of experience.
  • One year of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Must maintain current licensure in the State of Michigan if required.
  • Must be BCLS/CPR certified every 2 years according to the Michigan Heart Association Guidelines.
  • Demonstrates stress management, clinical competence, personal acceptance of responsibility and accountability, promotes positive interpersonal relationships and maintains confidentiality.

2 - Perioperative Scrub RN

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is seeking two - 4 day per week Perioperative Scrub RNs.  Qualifications include:

  • Must have graduated from an approved school of professional nursing.
  • Must maintain current licensure for professional nursing practice in the State of Michigan.
  • Must be BLS/CPR and ACLS certified every 2 years according to the Michigan Heart Association guidelines.
  • A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care facility required.
  • A minimum of 2 years previous scrub nurse experiences preferred.
  • Must maintain Chemotherapy certification or be certified within 6 months.
  • Demonstrates stress management by remaining composed during stressful situations.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence in administration of quality nursing care to patients.
  • Demonstrates personal acceptance of responsibility and accountability for self and team members.
  • Demonstrates use of rehabilitative-restorative nursing techniques appropriate to the need of the patient.
  • Promotes positive interpersonal relationships with staff members, administrators, physicians and the public.
  • Accepts assigned duties within his/her knowledge, experience and educational training.

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is currently seeking a 5 day per week Receptionist / Check Out Clerk.  Qualifications include:

  • Must be a high school graduate with skills including basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to deal with the public, patients and fellow staff in a position of moderate to high stress.
  • Ability to handle busy, multi-line telephone in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Must possess typing and/or data processing skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is extremely helpful.
  • Must have the desire to learn and cross-train.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values of BCMH.

 

Ancillary Services Coordinator - Radiology

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is currently seeking a 37.5 hour/week Ancillary Services Coordinator - Radiology.  Qualifications include:

  • Must be a high school graduate with emphasis on science and secretarial experience preferred.
  • Must have computer experience.
  • Must have the capability of accurate typing and filing.  
  • Must have clerical experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Competent in Anatomy and Physiology preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with patients, visitors, physicians and employees.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette is necessary.
  • Must be able to handle stress and pressure while remaining composed.
  • Must be able to accept responsibility and accountability.
  • Must be a positive role model and be willing to perform other duties within knowledge and training.
  • Must promote good interpersonal relationships with staff, physicians, administration and the public.

Health Unit Coordinator

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is currently seeking a 2 day one week and 3 day next week rotating schedule, Health Unit Coordinator.  Qualifications include:

  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Must have clerical experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Must be able to handle stress and pressure while remaining composed.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, numerical skills and have a desire to succeed and grow.
  • Must be able to accept responsibility and accountability.
  • Must be a positive role model and be willing to perform other duties within knowledge and training.
  • Must promote good interpersonal relationships with staff, doctors, administration and the public.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values of BCMH.

 

2 - Housekeepers

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is currently seeking two - 4 day per week Housekeepers.  Qualifications include:

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must know how to use common house cleaning devices and cleaning products such as brooms, mops, floor waxes, scouring pads, etc, to keep areas clean.
  • Must know how to operate and care for equipment such as stripper, scrubber, waxer and buffer.
  • Must know how to measure cleaning solutions and be alert to hazards.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, disinfecting solutions, etc.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance or have own transportation to other BCMH outbuildings.
  • Must demonstrate a daily commitment to the Standards of Behavior and Core Values of BCMH.

Join Our Volunteer Program!

BCMH has an active volunteer program at their facility. If you are looking for a way to contribute to your community by volunteering your time, we would love to have the opportunity to have you as a part of our organization. Volunteer greeters are available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm to greet the public and provide directions and guidance to those who are new to the facility. This rewarding opportunity can require as little or as many hours as you would like to donate - there are no minimum requirements.
