Emergency Medicine

  • Specialists in emergency medicine provide treatment for all trauma, and any life or limb- threatening situations, as well as medical problems of an urgent nature. Emergency specialists stabilize critically ill or injured patients and determine what subspecialty care is needed. Emergency physicians are also responsible for pre-hospital care including the supervision of paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) before the patient reaches the hospital.
