Baraga County Memorial Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital located in L'Anse, which provides health care for the residents of Baraga County and surrounding areas.

The hospital is licensed for 15 acute care beds, which includes 9 swingbeds. The hospital, home care & hospice agency, and durable medical equipment business are accredited by the Joint Commission, and the hospital's laboratory is accredited by COLA.

The hospital has also made a commitment to providing a continuum of care with their physician clinic, BCMH Physician Group.  The continuum of care is also provided by our home health agency & hospice, Baraga County Home Care & Hospice; the medical equipment business, Baraga County Medical Equipment; Bayside Village Nursing Home; and the BCMH Rehab & Fitness Center.

After going through a review of the physical facility, and public meetings to review the results of the studies which were performed by space and financial planners, BCMH constructed a new hospital facility on U.S. 41 in L'Anse.  The new facility incorporates the physician offices into the same structure, along with a retail pharmacy for the convenience of our community members to allow for "one stop" medical care.  The new facility officially opened on June 10, 2011 and has been instrumental in allowing the hospital to expand its services..

The transition to the new hospital building at 18341 U.S. Highway 41 in L'Anse was complete during 2011, including the move and consolidation of the the two physician practices to BCMH Physician Group at the new facility.  All services, with the exception of the following BCMH-owned businesses all located in L'Anse - Baraga County Home Care and Hospice  (510 Memorial St.), Baraga County Medical Equipment (510 Memorial St., Suite B), Bayside Village Nursing Home (832 Sicotte), and BCMH Rehab & Fitness Center (17 W. Broad St.), are now offered at the U.S. 41 location.
