Baraga County Memorial Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital with long term care unit, located in L'Anse, which provides health care for the residents of Baraga County and surrounding areas.

The hospital has 15 acute care beds, 9 swingbeds, and 28 skilled nursing beds. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

During the past several years, Baraga County Memorial Hospital has made major investments to renovate and improve its facility, which has allowed the hospital to expand its services.

The hospital has also made a commitment to providing a continuum of care with their home health agency & hospice, Baraga County Home Care & Hospice, and also with the addition of the BCMH Rehab & Fitness Center.

Currently, BCMH is going through a review of the physical facility, and has had public meetings to review the results of the studies which have been performed by space and financial planners.  The reports which were reviewed at the Special Board of Trustee Meeting held on June 21, 2007, and which give options for the future physical plant of BCMH, are available to the public and may be obtained by request by using the "contact us" portion of this website.
